BROTHER NEEDS OUR PRAYERS
7/30/10 Just want to let everyone know that Chief Watts is once again on his way to CMC. He has been having increased headaches and dizziness. Went to Dr. today where they did an MRI and found a bleed in his brain. They are going to do surgery tonight. Will update when we know more! Once again we are asking for everyone's prayers for our Brother Chief Watts!!

Adam Rawls of Icard Fire and Rescue suffered severe burns while on his job in the kitchen at Rock Barn today and was flown by helicopter to Wake Forest. Please keep him and his family in your prayers.
BRING 'EM ALL HOME!!

FIRE SAFETY HOUSE
Each year during Fire Prevention Week (October 5-11) our county fire departments use the Burke County Firefighter’s Association Fire Safety House to educate the children on different aspects of fire safety. Some of the topics covered are “Stop, Drop and Roll”; “Stay Low and Go” to crawl under smoke and escape a house fire; how to call 911 in case of an emergency; how to create a “Home Fire Escape Plan”; when to check and change smoke detector batteries; and several different aspects of home fire safety. The Fire Safety House is a portable camper that is divided into two levels inside, upstairs and downstairs, this teaches children how to escape from a fire in different living conditions. The Fire Safety House also can produce artificial, harmless smoke to simulate conditions during a house fire.
